Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21, 1983. Maggie Grace is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. The couple had separated and they moved together with their mother into Los Angeles. They were struggling to make ends meet at the time she landed her first role in acting in the film Rachel's Room's lead character. In 2002 she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her role as 15-year old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford was the main actress in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004, she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award with the entire ensemble. Grace left the show to focus on her acting career. She had starred alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) as Suburban Girl as well as The Jane Austen Book Club. She reprised her role in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the main character Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the Lost series for the last two episodes as Shannon. She also was a guest in the sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith who's both an avid stargazer as well as a socialite. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. A member of the Gyllenhaal clan she is the child of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder cousin of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career when she was a teenager, playing small parts in a few of his films. She also appeared together with her brother in famous cult classic Donnie Darko (2001). Then she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal's lead roles in Secretary, the romantic comedy-drama erotico and Sherrybaby (a dramatic) earned her nominations for Golden Globe Awards. Following a string of commercially successful movies in 2006, including World Trade Center she received greater recognition for her performance as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). She received a nomination as the best supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mother as she appeared in Crazy Heart. Her subsequent roles include Nanny McPhee as well as in the Big Bang and Hysteria. Other roles she has played include an agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013), a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) and a musician in Frank (2014) and The title role in the drama The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal began her professional career as screenwriter, director and writer in the year 2021, when she wrote and directed the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter. The film was awarded Best Screenplay at the Venice International Film Festival, and it was nominated by the Academy Award.
